Many projects were established. Napoleon I wanted to make a monument to the glory of the Great Army, later a library, and even a station! Ultimately, it was a church dedicated to Ste Madeleine, but the Parisians say "Madeleine". The building is imposing. Built in the style of a Greek temple on access to this "Parthenon" of the 19th century "raised by 4 m, surrounded by 52 Corinthian columns, by a wide staircase, which offers bright prospects on the rue Royale, the Obelisk Concorde, the Palais Bourbon and the Dome des Invalides.
