How many Paris are there? There’s tourist Paris, the city of the great Paris monuments of the past as the arc de triomphe; there’s the unavowed, unsung Paris of the minor museums and hidden corners; there’s the Paris of shopping and fashion; there’s culinary Paris; there’s the Paris of the banks of the Paris river Seine and of the great parks… Or might it not be that there’s just one Paris, with a thousand faces, ever-changing, with a million facets, a city that has remained true to itself through the centuries and is always renewing itself?
